When you inhale, air goes in through the nose, into the trachea, bronchi,bronchioles and then alveoli.
Oxygen diffuses into the blood through diffusion. Oxygen diffuses from an area of high concentration(in the alveoli) into an area of lower concentration(the blood).
Carbon diffuses from the blood into the alveoli and then it is exhaled.
