Heat flow is normally from a high temperature toward a low temperature region. How do you manage to cool your body on a July day when the temperature is 102 F (compared to 98.6 F normal body temperature)?

If the temperature outside of your body is 102 F (39 C), your sweat glands will cause you to sweat. When the sweat evaporates, it produces a cooling effect. Also, the blood vessels close to the skin dilate so that some of your internal heat from your blood will be lost to the surroundings.
