Colloids are a specific type of suspension.......
Explanation:
Like any other suspension or dispersion, colloids consist of one phase dispersed in another (i.e. heterogeneous mixture). However, the things that classify suspensions as colloids are:
a) Stability - the dispersed phase does not separate out or settle (or at least not for an extremely long time) (b) dimensions of the dispersed particles - they should have a diameter between ca. 1 nm and 1000 nm.
