Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) provide more robust, healthier plants which improve overall food availability and nutritional value.

Explanation:

It is important to remember that humans have been "genetically modifying" crops and animals for millennia! We just did it a bit slower with cross-breeding over the years.

New methods of gene splicing just make it a bit faster and easier to incorporate specific beneficial traits. They are no more or less "dangerous" than any other new "breed" developed by former conventional methods.

GM animals also provide heartier stock with enhanced beneficial characteristics. Some are able to produce “natural” pharmaceutical precursors more efficiently than collecting them from previous plant or animal sources.

GM Microbes have dramatically increased the yields and reduced the costs of other pharmaceutical and food processing precursor molecules. Some have been useful in environmental cleanup of waste waters, oil spills, toxic heavy metals and other detrimental environmental effects.
