I would normally do this by just long dividing $7$ by $15$ . Long division allows you to convert any fraction into its decimal representation.

Let's try another method:

Decompose $7/15$ into a difference of fractions whose representations we already know:

If you can change the fraction to an equivalent fraction over 100 then the numerator becomes your decimal. E.g. $3/25=12/100=0.12$

If it doesn't multiply to 100 like this one doesn't then you have to divide.
