Because x is not an integer there is no solution to this problem involving consecutive odd integers.

Explanation:

4 consecutive odd integers would be every other integer (3, 5, 7, etc.).

There for let's call the first integer x.

Then the other three integers would be: x + 2, x + 4 and x + 6

Adding these four integers together gives:

x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 = 18

Combining like terms and then solving gives:

4x + 12 = 18

4x + 12 - 12 = 18 - 12

4x = 6

(4x)/4 = 6/4

x = 3/2

Because x is not an integer there is no solution to this problem involving consecutive odd integers.
