When asked to evaluate inverse trigonometric functions, first ask yourself, "Is the answer a special angle?"

sin1(0.5)=sin1(12)

Is there a special angle with sint=12?

Yes, t=π6.

But we want sint=12, so we want an answer in quadrant 3 or 4.

sin1(x) always gives us a t between π2 and π2, so we want t=π6

sin1(0.5)=π6
