Assuming you have an equation in terms of variables x and y
evaluate for y when x is set to 0 to get the y-intercept and vise versa for the x-intercept

Explanation:

The y-intercepts are the points where the equation crosses the y-axis; for all point on the y-axis, x=0

(Similarly for the x-intercepts).
