Lets change this equation into y=mx+b form.
In this y=mx+b form of the equation, b is your y intercept and m is your slope.

Step 1: Change into y=mx+b form by isolating y
4x=y+8
Take away 8 from both sides
4x-8=y

Step 2: Determine slope:
y=4x-8
4 is our m, so that must mean the slope is 4 or 4/1

Step 3: Determine Y intercept:
y=4x-8
When the line crosses the y axis, x is at zero, so we can use x=0 to find our y intercept!
y=4(0)-8
y=-8

-8 is our y intercept!

Step 4: Determine x intercept
y=4x-8
