The slope is 1 and the intercept is 4.

Explanation:

You can find the slope of a function by looking at the coefficient of x in an equation. In case you forget what the coefficient is, it's the number multiplied by x in the equation. Here, the coefficient is 1 ... even though it's not written! Because any number multiplied by 1 does not change, we simplify the writing of 1x as simply x. Had this equation been y=3x+4 the slope would be 3.

As for the intercept, to find that, set x=0. In our equation this becomes y=0+4 and simplifies to y=4 - that's it!
