is said to be in the "slope-intercept form"
$XXXX$ $color(white)("XXXX")$ with has a slope of $m$ $m$ and a y-intercept of $b$ $b$

$y = 2 x - 1$ $y=2x-1$ is in "slope-intercept form"
and, therefore,
$XXXX$ $color(white)("XXXX")$ has a slope of $2$ $2$ and a y-intercept of $(- 1)$ $(-1)$
