Any linear equation of the general form:
$XXXX$ $color(white)("XXXX")$ $y = m x + b$ $y = mx+b$
is in slope intercept form with slope $m$ $m$ and y-intercept $b$ $b$

$y = x + 2 = (1) x + 2$ $y = x+2 = (1)x+2$ is an example of an equation in this form.

It has a slope of $1$ $1$ and a y-intercept of $2$ $2$
