The slope of a line between two points is the difference between the yy coordinates divided by the difference between the xx coordinates

Given the points (-4,-5)(4,5) and (4,5)(4,5)

slope = (Delta y)/(Delta x) = (5-(-5))/(4-(-4)) = 10/8 = 5/4
