The slope is 1

Given: $x - y + 1 = 0$ $" " x-y+1=0$

Add $y$ $y$ to both sides giving

$x - y + y + 1 = 0 + y$ $x-y+y+1=0+y$

$x + 0 + 1 = y$ $x+0+1=y$

$y = x + 1$ $y=x+1$

Although not normally written this way I am going to show you.

There are 1 of $x$ $x$ so you could write

$y = 1 x + 1$ $y=1x+1$

The $1 from 1 x$ $1" from "1x$ is the gradient (slope)

This means that for 1 along you go up 1
