x intercept is at x=13 and y intercept is at y=1

Explanation:

The intercept for the y-axis has to be when x=0
The intercept for the x-axis has to be when y=0

To find the y intercept
so substitute 0 for x in the equation giving:

y=(3×0)+1

y=1

To find the x intercept
Substitute 0 for y in the equation giving:

0=3x+1

Subtract 1 from both sides

01=3x+11

3x=1

Divide both sides by 3

3x3=13

x=13
