Intercept on y-axis is 2.

Explanation:

Equation of the line joining (x_1,y_1) and (x_2,y_2) is given by

(y-y_1)/(y_2-y_1)=(x-x_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Hence equation of line joining (5,7) and (6,8) is

(y-7)/(8-7)=(x-5)/(6-5) or

(y-7)/1=(x-5)/1 or

y-7=x-5 or y=x+2

As the equation is already in slope intercept form, slope of line is 1 and intercept on y-axis is 2.
