They are not compatible.

$Z$ is a $(2 xx 2)$ matrix and $Y$ is a $(1 xx 2)$ , they cannot be added or subtracted. They are not compatible.

We can only multiply $Y xx Z$ , because the width of $Y$ matches the height of $Z$ .
