We are given a linear equation in the slope-intercept form .

We have color(red)(y = x + 1) .. color(green)(Equation.1)

This is of slope-intercept form color(blue)(y = mx + b)

where color(blue)m is the slope.

In our problem, Slope(m) = 1

color(blue)(b) is the y-intercept.

In our problem, y-intercept = 1

To find the x-intercept we substitute y = 0 in .. color(green)(Equation.1)

0 = x + 1

Hence, in our problem, x-intercept = -1

Hence our line will pass through two points (-1,0) and (0,1)
