First, take $0.75s$ and $0.50s$ as $75/100s$ and $50/100s$ .

Then it becomes

$(75/100s)+5=(50/100s)+9$

$(75s+500)/100=(50s+900)/100$

The $100$ on both sides will get cancelled

$75s+500=50s+900$

$75s-50s=900-500$

$25s=400$

$s=400/25$

$s=16$
