The answer to the equation is x=3

Explanation:

The thing you always want to do in linear equations, is try to seperate the x.
The only thing standing in the way at the moment is that 3. We can just remove it by subtracting 3. But, this is only allowed if you also subtract it on the right side of the equation:

32x=9
332x=93
2x=6
Now, there's this 2 that keeps sticking to the x. We can also remove that, by dividing by 2.But, this is only allowed if you also divide on the right side of the equation:
2x2=62
x=3
