I don't know what you mean by p because you can't graph p. I'm going to graph both
graph of x < -3:
graph{x < -3 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}
graph of y < -3:
graph{y < -3 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}
As you can see on both graphs, a dotted line is used, because the value of x < -3 or y < -3 means that it can't equal to -3.
Also, the shaded region of the graph is the solution, because we are just finding all values of x that are less than -3 or all y values that are less than -3.
