The Parallax method states this: $d = \frac{\frac{base}{2}}{tan (\frac{p}{2})}$ $d=("base"/2)/tan(p/2)$

where:

$base$ $"base"$ = distance between initial and final points
$p$ $p$ = parallax angle

Distance to Nearby stars can be measured using: $d = \frac{1}{p}$ $d=1/p$

where:

$p$ $p$ = parallax angle (in arcseconds )
$d$ $d$ = distance ( in parsecs )
