Then, $\frac{x + 5}{x + 7} = 2$ $frac(x+5)(x+7)=2$

Multiplying both sides by $x + 7$ $x+7$ , we get

$x + 5 = 2 x + 14$ $x+5=2x+14$

$5 = x + 14$ $5=x+14$
