How do you solve percent problems using ratio proportion?

Lets say you want to calculate $15 %$ $15%$ of $70$ $70$ .

If there are $15$ $15$ units in $100$ $100$ , then $k$ $k$ units in $70$ $70$ .

$\frac{15}{100} = \frac{k}{70}$ $15/100=k/70$

$k = \frac{15 \cdot 70}{100} = 10.5$ $k=(15*70)/100 = 10.5$
