You can subtract the two equations, to have

$- 2 x + 2 x + 5 y - 3 y = 4 - 4$ $-2x+2x +5y-3y=4-4$

And thus

$2 y = 0 \Rightarrow y = 0$ $2y=0 \implies y=0$

Once you know that $y = 0$ $y=0$ , you can eliminate it from the formula, to get
