The solution for the system of equations is
color(blue)(x=-4,y=-9x=4,y=9

Explanation:

color(blue)(y=2x-1y=2x1.......equation (1)(1)

x-y=5xy=5.........equation (2)(2)

Solving by substitution.

Substituting equation 11 in equation 22

x-y=5xy=5

x-color(blue)((2x-1)=5x(2x1)=5

x-2x +1=5x2x+1=5

-x +1=5x+1=5

-x =5-1x=51

-x =4x=4

color(blue)(x =-4x=4

Finding yy by substituting xx in equation 11:

color(blue)(y=2x-1y=2x1

y=2*(-4)-1y=2(4)1

y=-8-1y=81

color(blue)(y=-9y=9
