Solve by elimination

#4x-3y=15#

#-6x+3y=17#

If we loo carefully we can see that we can eliminate #3y# in the second equation by #-3y# in the first equation.

Add the equations

#rarr(4x-3y=15)+(-6x+3y=17)#

#rarr-2x=32#

#rarrx=32/-2=-16#

So,substitute the value of #x# to the first equation:

#rarr4(-16)-3y=15#

#rarr-64-3y=15#

#rarr-3y=15+64#
