$y = 1 - 4 x$ $y=1-4x$ --- (3)

Sub (3) into (2)
$6 x - (1 - 4 x) = - 1$ $6x-(1-4x)=-1$
$6 x - 1 + 4 x = - 1$ $6x-1+4x=-1$
