$y=-25/11$

Given -

$x+y=23$ -----------------(1)
$x+12y=-2$ ---------------(2) ------------ $(1) -(2)$
$-11y=25$

$y=-25/11$

Substitute $y=-25/11$ in equation (1)

$x-25/11=23$
$x=23+25/11=(253+25)/11=278/11$

$x=278/11$
