The solution for the system of equations is

x-2y = 3

x+y=1......equation (2)

Substituting equation (1) in equation (2)
x+y=1
color(blue)(3+2y)+y=1
3+3y=1

3y=2

Substituting the value of y in equation (1) to find x
x= 3+2y
x= 3+2(-2/3)

x= 3-4/3
