The slope-intercept form is
$y = x + 1$ $y=x+1$

The slope-intercept form is
$y = m x + b$ $y=mx+b$

So from the given $y - \frac{1}{2} = x + \frac{1}{2}$ $y-1/2=x+1/2$

All we need to do is to transpose the -1/2 from left to right side of the equation

that is

$y - \frac{1}{2} = x + \frac{1}{2}$ $y-1/2=x+1/2$
