Each individual formula unit of CaCl_2 contains 1xxCa^(2+), and 2xxCl^-.

Explanation:

The ionic salt formed is of course electrically neutral; and electrical neutrality requires this PRECISE number of anions and cations. So if we got 3 formula units or even 3 moles, we gots 3xxCa^(2+)+6xxCl^-.....
