One method would be to determine an equation for the line through the points A=(-1,2)A=(1,2) and B=(-2,8)B=(2,8)
and then substitute x=0x=0 in the equation.

(Delta_y)/(Delta_x) = (y-2)/(x+1) = (8-2)/(-2+1)

(y-2) = (-6)(x+1)

y = -6x -4

when x=0 (that is, along the y-axis)
y= -4

The y-intercept is (-4)
