Galvanic cells and voltaic cells are the same thing, just under different names.

The Galvanic cell, named after Luigi Galvani, consists of two different metals connected by a salt bridge or a porous disk between the individual half-cells. It is also known as a voltaic cell or electrochemical cell. It should not be confused with the electrolytic cell.

Voltaic (Galvanic) Cells consist of two separate compartments called "half cells" containing electrolyte solutions and electrodes that can be connected in a circuit to some voltmeter placed between the two electrodes within the circuit.
