Then, the lengtth of the postage stamp be (x+4 1/4)mm.
Given perimeter is P=124 1/2 We know perimeter of a rectangle is P=2(w+l); where w is the width and l is the length.
So 2(x+x+ 4 1/4) = 124 1/2 or 4x+ 8 1/2 = 124 1/2 or 4x =124 1/2- 8 1/2 or 4x =116 or x = 29 :. x+4 1/4=33 1/4
