"Sulfuric acid + sodium hydroxide" rarr "sodium sulfate + water"

Explanation:

H_2SO_4(aq) + 2NaOH(aq) rarr 2H_2O(l)+Na_2SO_4(aq)

Because sulfuric acid is diprotic, it takes TWO equiv of sodium hydroxide for neutralization.

I could do the above reaction stepwise if I started with sodium bisulfate and added 1 equiv sodium hydroxide:

NaHSO_4(aq) + NaOH(aq) rarr H_2O(l)+Na_2SO_4(aq)

Is is clear what I am doing here?
