Translate these conditions and call the number XX

Explanation:

Twice the number: 2X2X
subtracted from 30: 30-2X302X
This is the left part of the equation

Three times that number 3X3X
added to 15: 3X+153X+15
This is the right part of the equation

So:
30-2X=3X+15302X=3X+15
we now add 2X2X on both sides, and subtract 1515

30-15-cancel(2X)+cancel(2X)=3x+2x+cancel15-cancel15->

15=5X->X=15/5=3

Check:
30-2xx3=3xx3+15->24=24 Check!
