There are so many famous dynasties that I just picked 5 that I liked the best lol. So here is why.
The Han were a very strong dynasty, around the same time as the height of the Roman Empire. There have been many good debates over what would have happened if the Han had military action with the Roman Empire. The most interesting thing of the Han dynasty is the fall of it which is the beginning to one of the most interesting periods of World History, the Three Kingdoms which also led to the great work of historical fiction, Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
The Jin empire is the empire that was formed after Sima Yan won the war of the Three Kingdoms. It didn't last very long however.
The Song Dynasty was the first known use of gunpowder, and were the dynasty that eventually fell to the Mongols.
The Yuan dynasty was the dynasty that Kublai Khan created when he conquered the Song. One could argue that since it was Mongols this dynasty was not a famous Chinese dynasty since it was not Chinese.
The Ming dynasty eventually took power back from the Mongols and was also a period of great social stability. Also, who hasn't heard of a Ming Vase?
