When it rains, with a chronometer, measure rainfall depth accumulation. Try to relate it with runoff. You can also measure pH, dissolved oxygen and electric conductivity of rainfall if possible.
You can put a glass (or container) of water on an open space and measure evaporation from this everyday. You can collect weather data to relate independent parameters with evaporation depth of water.
