See [here.](https://socratic.org/questions/what-is-the-conjugate-base-of-hso-4#276790)

Explanation:

The conjugate base of any acid is the initial acid HX LESS a proton, H^+ to give X^-.

The conjugate acid of any base is the initial base X^- PLUS a proton, H^+ to give HX.

AS with any chemcal reaction, both MASS and CHARGE are CONSERVED.

Can you tell me the conjugate acid of ammonia, NH_3? Can you tell me its conjugate base (which does not exist in water)?
