The phenomenon of systems in SHM causing amplitudes of oscillations to increase.
Explanation:
When mass on springs, simple pendulums, or other systems that undergo simple harmonic motion (SHM), they oscillate at frequencies, called the natural frequency of oscillation, which often is also referred to as the resonant frequency.
If energy is transferred to the system at a frequency approximately the frequency, the amplitude of the system's oscillations will increase. This continues until the system becomes deformed. This phenomenon is called resonance.
Hope this helps!
