Explanation:
The skeletal system provides support and structure to the body.
It provides support because if you didn't have a skeleton, your muscles wouldn't have anything solid to attach to and therefore would foo around and be pretty useless.
It also provides protection to vital organs in the chest area with the ribcage. Without the ribcage, could easily be damaged since they wouldn't have a shell. Think of it like a turtle: the turtle's shell protects the turtle the same way the ribcage protects the heart, lungs, etc.
