Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP)

Explanation:

The ANP is secreted from the atrial walls when they become stretched. During heart failure, the atrial walls become very much stretched and release large amount of ANP; much higher than the normal level. In case of severe heart failure, the circulating level of ANP in the blood may increase tenfold.
