In NaClNaCl we get the sodium ion Na^+Na+ and the chloride ion Cl^-Cl.

In Na_2CO_3Na2CO3 we get 2 sodium ions and 1 carbonate ion CO_3^(2-)CO23.

in MgSO_4MgSO4 we get a magnesium ion Mg^(2+)Mg2+ and a sulphate ion SO_4^(2-)SO24.

In NH_4ClNH4Cl we get an ammonium ion NH_4^+NH+4 and a chloride ion Cl^-Cl.

In each case these oppositely charged ions are held together by strong ionic bonds, and the molecules held together by strong intermolecular forces.
