Explanation:
Convoluted syntax means a form of language that is more complicated than would be required to simply convey meaning.
For example, instead of saying "I'm running late", we might say:
"Comparing the present clock-reported time with what we previously discussed and made an agreement about, it seems that I myself may not be exactly on schedule".
