This is a condition where,a gall bladder due to excessive accumulation of cholesterol stones within it for long time,undergoes pathologic calcification,resulting in whitish appearance and gritty sensation.

Which is identified as whitish structure on X ray plate.

The name is given such because of the appearance found by the surgeons intraoperatively,which mimics like a porcelain.

And a surgeon must be cautious enough while handeling such case as it is extremely brittle in nature and can get converted to fine dust which can fall on the surrounding structures to cause intense inflammation.
