Adverbs are words that describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They answer the questions:

color(red)"How":
> softly, loudly, gracefully, well, fast

color(orange)"Where":
> outside, above, far, indoors, there, abroad

color(green)"When":
>soon, tomorrow, then, today, already

color(blue)"How much":
> fairly, too, extremely, just, very

color(purple)"How often":
> never, rarely, often, seldom, frequently

In your sentence I think it would be beneficial to add a color(red)"how" adverb in the sentence to describe how he yelled:

  • color(red)"Desperately", he cried out for help when he got stuck in the revolving door.
  • He cried out color(red)"loudly" for help when he got stuck in the revolving door.
