What is the acute stress response?
I think it is called the S.A.M pathway but unsure as to what it stands for.

A combination of normal stress responses occurring rapidly and strongly due to a particularly traumatic event. It is also often called the "Fight-or-flight" response.
Explanation:
Stress is a normal and healthy response to our environment. It provides mechanisms for coping with dangerous situations.
However, in some cases a particularly significant event can cause immense anxiety, fear, and other stressful emotions in such a strong and rapid way that it may adversely affect heart rate, blood pressure and respiration.
