78% Nitrogen | 21% Oxygen | 0.9% Argon | 0.04% "CO"_2 | 0.06% Other Gases

Explanation:

The main gases in our atmosphere are nitrogen & oxygen.

About four-fifths (80%) of the atmosphere is nitrogen & one-fifth (20%) is oxygen.

The Evolution of Plants removed much of the early Earth's atmosphere's "CO"_2, not to mention the introduction of more oxygen removed other harmful gases such as ammonia & methane by reacting with it.

CH_4 + 2O_ 2 rarr CO_2 + 2H_2O

4NH_3 + 3O_2 rarr 2N_2 + 6H_2O

This made more "CO"_2 available for plants, created more water to support animal life & got rid of poisonous gases which killed off animal life, without plants, we wouldn't be here.

Give a tree a hug.

Hopefully this helps you.
