What is the past participle of "smite"? "Smote" sounds kind of right, but not really. Someone said it would be "smitten," but that means you are in love. I'm confused. Please help.

Smitten. Smote is a different form of the verb.
Explanation:
The past participle is 'smitten', because it comes presumably from a German root and has the common '-en' ending.
'Smote' is the imperfect past form.
'I smote'
'I have smitten'
